Job description
FBS is one of the largest software and technology providers powering the multi-trillion-dollar US real estate market. Our people and our software help make the real estate market work, supporting millions of transactions each year and enabling the daily work of hundreds of thousands of practitioners across the country as they help consumers buy and sell properties.
As the UX Designer at FBS, you will be pivotal in shaping our design vision, managing visual libraries for all desktop and mobile products and acting as the conduit between the design and development teams. You will work with a talented product team that includes Design, Product Management, Data Analytics and User Research to steer the product design process from concept to implementation. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure seamless integration of design solutions that elevate user satisfaction, engagement, and overall business success.
This position is open to either our Fargo, ND office or remotely from within the United States. Salary range is DOE, between $80,000-100,000 annually (based on 2,080 hours/year).
Key Responsibilities:
Support the FBS product vision while maintaining the company's brand, values, and business objectives.
Establish, document and maintain product designs and design patterns using UX standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and cohesiveness across all products and platforms.
Own and evolve the design system, including creating scalable components and Figma variants to support product consistency and efficiency.
Maintain and optimize the Figma component library, ensuring they meet design and engineering requirements.
Collaborate with product managers and engineers throughout the design lifecycle to align on goals, scope, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines.
Design Implementation:
Lead the design-to-development handoff process, ensuring a seamless and collaborative experience from ideation to execution.
Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure successful implementation of design concepts while considering technical feasibility.
Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for effective collaboration with development teams.
Willingness to learn the FBS products and understand the methodology behind current design and apply that knowledge while making UX decisions for the next stages of innovation.
Ensure all necessary design details are documented to communicate visual designs intent, initiate collaborative review of the design to enable developers to understand and execute the design.
Strategy, Planning and Communication:
Create an exceptional user experience while balancing customer needs, current business objectives and understanding the existing product and framework.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to develop designs that address user needs and business goals.
Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts effectively.
Effectively communicate design plans and concepts to internal and external stakeholders
User-Centered Design:
Collaborate with the User Research and Data Analytics team to gain insights into user behaviors, pain points, and motivations and integrate these findings into UX design patterns and inform decisions throughout the development process.
Stay informed about industry trends, user behaviors, and emerging technologies to drive innovation in our products.
Quality Assurance and Testing:
Prioritize usability testing and user feedback to refine design solutions iteratively.
Ensure final products meet high-quality standards and align with established design principles.
Job requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
Must have high-level working knowledge of design tool Figma, as well as some working knowledge of tools like Miro, Confluence, and Jira.
